Best study/reference companion for a Six Sigma Black Belt!

This book was recommended to me by my Six Sigma Black Belt instructor. I kept getting confused by the errors and jumbled thoughts printed in our textbook causing me to struggle in the coursework to understand the concepts and complete the exercises on time correctly. (I'm usually an A student so this was frustrating and it was hard to learn the skills when the instructor keeps telling me to "ignore that part of the text.") The Black Belt Memory Jogger was what saved me. The language was clear, had clear examples that a newbie could follow and did not have nearly the conceptual errors or misprints that the textbook had. I could finally apply and transfer the concepts learned to use in various real world scenarios which was reflected by my quickly being able to acquire an A grade. So glad he recommended this book!

A simple, quick, and easy reference for black belts

As black belts, we've all attended training, learned to use the tools, and now we're expected to implement them in our facilities. Honestly though, how often do you use every tool? Sometimes? Rarely? Never?

That's where the memory jogger shines - those tools that we just don't use often, but know somewhere in there that we learned during a long-forgotten training session at a hotel fueled by too much food and too much booze at night. You've got the knowledge locked away somewhere, of course. The memory jogger simply helps you free that knowledge by turning on the little light bulb of remembrance.

This is an absolute must-have for anyone going through Six Sigma training. It is much more comprehensive than the Six Sigma (Green Belt) Memory Jogger. I have taught ten classes in Six Sigma and this is always the first book that I order. From concepts to statistical tables to "How do I do this," this book covers it all. Highly recommended.

Good book to have on hand

There is a lot of helpful information in this book. I have been able to read up on nursing, bathing, bottles, sleeping and lots more! If you want a guide on how to go through each trimester and what to expect, then this book is for you. You must take these Vitamiss Prenatal - Optimal Women's Supplement for Healthy Pre and Post Pregnancy! if you are expecting or planning on conceiving. These are once a day vitamins, and are generally pretty easy on the stomach. They have everything I want, so honestly I still use them even though my son is almost 3. They are not too large, and taking them right before bed works best for me.

Really cool. My favorite page is the water park page

Really cool. My favorite page is the water park page. It shows such awesome slides, like Veruckt, which is the tallest slide in the world, at 153 meters. I also very much liked the engineering page, which included a very tall wall made of books. I also find it epic that they interviewed Chris Hatfield; I read that part a couple of times. A treasure to have!!!

This book made a huge impact in my life. I have read many Hindu scriptures before but never came across a book like this. This book with Sri Sri Ravishankar's commentary, made it so simple to understand. It just helped me to understand the art of living without getting stressed out, and some basic principles we can follow in order to succeed in fulfilling life's purpose, which is realizing the truth about ourselves and of this universe. This book truly helped me to have a shift in my consciousness . I realized that just praying and meditating is not enough and a deep understanding of life is necessary for spiritual growth. I would recommend this book to everyone who is looking for a ' special ' book, in which they can keep it in their book collection and go back again and again when they have a doubt in their mind. I have read many spiritual books. But this is one of the best books that I have ever read. Each time I read it , I find it more interesting with different meaning ! A must read , indeed!

A wonderfully abstract, deeply strange and startling UFO contact book.The 2nd half,not easy reading, is the startling and suprising part. I've never read anything like it !...and I have a huge UFO book collection, from the "flakey", to the scientifically statistical !

Life Changing Information

I read this book twice. The information in this book changed my life. I read it quite a few years ago before the Internet even existed in its present form.

It's not like other UFO related books that talk about things like alien abductions which are performed by the evil aliens. In fact the Iargans indicate that these evil aliens' flying saucers sometimes crash such as the Roswell crash and the alien autopsy video.

This book talks about things like Jesus Christ, the bible, the anti-Christ, injustice on our planet, the buildup of nuclear arsenals, etc., and how these same events and patterns of behavior occur on many other planets.

The Iargans talk about their planet also. They are much more socialistic and advanced than Earth but they do have to deal with many of the same issues and problems.

The Iargans mention Edgar Cayce and Atlantis.

I searched through quite a few UFO books and other far out info. This book is by far the most valuable UFO related book I've ever read.

The Iargans indicate that some changes are going to occur on our planet as they do on many other planets. The time for these changes are probably approaching soon although I don't know what form these events will take.

They said 'Satan is going to collect all of the selfishness he's given out'.

Yes, I suspect Satan is going to be taking care of some business soon.

If you read Wendelle Stevens' books, you MUST read this!

Note: This review will only be received largely by those who have read other books by Wendelle Stevens.

I want to write this review, not to repeat what the others have said, but to encourage readers of Wendelle Stevens, and other good UFO researchers for that matter, to READ THIS BOOK.

Here is the premise of the book: The UFO contactee in this book, referred to as Stefen Denaerde, allegedly had an encounter with intelligent beings from Iarga. He was given two and ONLY two choices. He could either keep material evidence as positive proof of his encounter that he would be allowed to show the world, or he could learn of their culture and philosophy and be allowed to write about it as if it was only science fiction. He, being intelligent, chose to learn of their culture and philosophy but was not allowed to give any material evidence or otherwise positively conclusive proof of the encounter but had to write about it as if it was purely science fiction.

The premise, then, is why those who largely read Wendelle Stevens books need to read this book and why others may choose to just discard the whole idea altogether. Most people who might read this book are likely never to have met the UFO contactee in question. It could easily, then, be concluded by these individuals that this man just happened to write a science fiction novel by his own wisdom and imaginations with this very clever premise. In this way, he could bring about his own thoughts as "wisdom from a more advanced civilization" while not having to prove a single bit of it as true because of the supposed "request" from the civilization itself.

Here, however, is where Wendelle Stevens comes into play. Wendelle, as he states in the book, spent four years into researching this case and has interviewed the UFO contactee. According to Wendelle, in his investigations, he found several other independent witnesses and other forms of evidence that the UFO contactee himself could not have known about, which verify the alien encounter to be genuine. The only thing is, Wendelle also chose to obey the Iargans' request not to publish anything that would even try to prove that the enounter was true. All he publishes is his statements that he found such evidences and the reader must decide if he or she is going to trust Wendelle on this matter.

Those who know of Wendelle Stevens, who know him to be a researcher who is extremely thorough in his investigations, who know that he is not someone to unite himself to something that is obviously false, who know that he would not intentionally lie in an attempt to try to gain profit from someone else's experience, have the statements from Wendelle himself included in this book to add a lot of credibility to the supposed UFO contactee's experience. But if one has not read another book of any of Wendelle's other investigations, they would need to do so to decide for themselves if they would be able to trust Wendelle on this matter or not.

To just add one more detail to what has been written already in the other reviews on this book. This book allegedly has a description of the proof of the existence of God, as spoken by a more advanced civilization. This detail is included not with the intention to detract anyone from reading this book but to let them know of the philosophical level that these supposed beings are on. One can still read the advanced civilization's philosophy for themselves and decide for themselves if the advanced civilization's philosophy is indeed true or not.

A timeless classic

I first read this book back in 1982 while a student attending the American School in Japan in Tokyo. The thousand or so pages of text did seem daunting at first but I could not put the book down ater the first few pages. Not only did it provide me with a greater understanding of my own Japanese heritage (I am half Japanese) but it did offer a greater and fundamental insight into what all of us are searching for -- the understanding of the self, way to approach things seen and unseen around us and a calm awareness of life. I have worked and lived throughout the world (Latin America, West/East Europe, and Russia in addition to the US)since my first reading and find that I am able to identify with the local cultures and find that many of the "lessons" garnered from this epic are also interwoven into the ideals of each of culture. It is also interesting to note that "the way" is now commonly referenced in leading business publications and books (read some of the great recent stuff from Tom Peters and you will see what I mean). The search for such understanding goes back to the Iliad but it is possible to trace the development, maturation and blossom of one single person (in this case Musashi) and experience the continous challenges he must face in order to defeat his demons. The combat scene at the Spreading Pine rivals any such related written description of someone working in a difficult situation but under total self control. Whenever I find myself in a difficult situation, I take time and re-read that chapter. Read the "Book of Five Rings" from the pen of Musahi himself next. At the very least, anyone who wants to gain a deeper understanding into Japanese culture should read this book.

The Tale of Old Japan's Most Famous Swordsman

Written in the early twentieth century, this indigenous Japanese novel recounts the life and times of old Japan's greatest swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi -- a man who began life as an over-eager and rather brutish young lout but who, through the discipline of Japan's "way of the sword," turned himself into a master of his chosen weapon. But this tale is not only about a life spent in training to perfect the art of killing with a sharpened piece of steel. In the venerable Japanese tradition, it is also about a man's search to conquer himself, to become a better person. The Buddhist view cultivated by the Japanese warrior class allowed for a spiritual dimension to their very bloody enterprise of warfare and killing. And it is this aspect of his training that consumes Musashi, to the detriment of the people he encounters and who seek to attach themselves to him. Unable to settle down in the ordinary way, or to simply join a particular clan as a retainer to some noble lord, Musashi embarks on the life of a ronin (masterless samurai) as he wends his way through the feudal world of medieval Japan in his seemingly endless search for perfection. In the process he finds a young woman who loves him and many enemies who seek his destruction, at least in part in repayment for the damage he does them while on his quest. He also crosses swords with many other experts in Japan's martial arts, but it is his early encounter with a Buddhist priest that puts him on the path which will forever after guide his life. Musashi ultimately finds his grail in a duel to the death with a man called Kojiro, who will become his greatest opponent, a sword master famous for his "swallow cut" -- a stroke so fast and deadly that it can slice a swooping, looping bird out of the air in mid-flight. This alone is a challenge worthy of the master which Musashi has become -- and a match which even he may not be up to, for this opponent is surely the finest technician in his art in all Japan. But there is more to swordsmanship than technical skill, as Musashi has learned, and there is more to living one's life than merely preserving it. Musashi attains a sort of peace in preparation for his climactic bout, for he is willing to risk all and even die in order to win against the master of the swallow cut, while applying all the strategy he has learned throughout his tumultuous career to unsettle the man who will oppose him. In the end Musashi became a legend to his countrymen, composing the famous Book of Five Rings -- his contribution to the art of strategy. But what he and Kojiro must do when they finally face each other is a tale in itself -- and a denoument towards which everything else in this book ultimately leads.

By the way, there are a whole slew of good books out there for those into good historical fiction, including a brand new one by Jeff Janoda called Saga: A Novel of Medieval Iceland which details the events surrounding an intriguing episode in Eyrbyggja Saga (Penguin Classics) (one of the most renowned of the original Norse sagas). It tells the tale of a great feud between two chieftains over a little piece of forested land in a place and time in which wood had become nearly as precious as gold. There are some remarkable resonances between the old samurai culture of medieval Japan and that of the medieval Icelanders, and it's worth exploring them through Janoda's new book.

An excellent adventure tale re: Japan's most famous swordsman
